Analysis & Research is the finding half of Referenta. Before you can write a credible briefing, send a sharp press response, or build an argument that holds up, you need to know what's already out there. This is where you do that work.
What Lives Here
Three workspaces, each for a different kind of finding:
Knowledgebase
A searchable library of parliamentary documents, policy papers, and more. Use it when you need to find existing material on a topic.
Research
A workspace for an active investigation — keep your sources and notes together as your understanding evolves.
Press Monitor
A live view of media coverage with a feed, filters, and a ticker. Use it to stay on top of what's being said in real time.
When To Start Here
Start in Analysis & Research before drafting whenever:
- Your task depends on what's already been said or written (laws, statements, press coverage, position papers).
- You're trying to stay current on a moving story.
- You're building evidence to support an argument or briefing.
A useful test: if your task starts with "find", "what's being said about", "compare to existing", or "monitor" — you belong here first.
How These Surfaces Connect To Drafting
Research isn't the end. The material you find usually feeds into something else:
- Find sources in Knowledgebase → draft a paper in the Assistant with those sources attached.
- Scan press coverage in Press Monitor → draft a response in the Assistant aware of the public conversation.
- Build a working set in Research → draft the long piece once your understanding is solid.
The Bookmarks feature inside Knowledgebase is the simplest way to carry findings into the next step — see Bookmarks.
